Fedosseev’s work explores the loss of power
as a catalyst for understanding human emotion, His work reduces the
viewer to their most basic raw emotions - like, dislike, fear, joy.
He layers oil paint quickly over a charcoal drawing and then
erases, or leaves be, essential elements. The oils are then
smudged and smeared, adding physical marks that become dominant in the
final composition. His use of a large human figure provides a
poignant and grotesque subject matter from which to explore ones own
loss of power and depth of human emotion.
