Silver/Sister has resolved Elder’s
obsession with photographing her younger sister. Silver
gelatine fibre prints reveal an exploration of their evolving
relationship, overshadowed by bipolar disorder. Her camera
became a tool to unite them; dissecting their similarities from
their differences while discovering the duality in their roles
as individuals, a family unit, and subjects of wavering mental
health and aging bodies. Black and white are silver.
